भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था में महिलाओं के योगदान पर अध्ययन करने की सख़्त ज़रुरत है। एक ओर सुनने में आता है कि भारत की महिला श्रम भागीदारी दर साउदी अरब जैसे रूढ़िवादी राज्य के करीब पहुँच चुकी है तो दूसरी ओर कई भारतीय महिलाएँ अर्थव्यवस्था के हर क्षेत्र में नयी ऊँचाइयाँ छू रही हैं। तो इस एपिसोड में हमने महिला श्रम के कई पहलुओं पर चर्चा की अर्थशास्त्री, प्रोफेसर अश्विनी देशपांडे से, जो इस विषय पर दो दशकों से शोध कर रही हैं।
